Day 1: Arrival and Settling In
My adventure to Aruba began with a smooth flight, landing at Queen Beatrix International Airport. Jacob Allen, our fantastic travel guide, had arranged seamless airport transfers for our group, making the transition from the airport to our resort effortless. As we arrived at the Barceló Aruba Resort located on the stunning Palm Beach—recognized as one of the top beaches in the world—I felt a wave of excitement wash over me.

Upon entering the resort, I was warmly welcomed by the friendly staff who made me feel right at home. They escorted us to the Royal Level Lounge, where the check-in process was smooth and efficient. I sipped on a refreshing welcome cocktail while enjoying the beautiful decor of the lounge, which set the stage for a luxurious stay.

After settling into my spacious and elegantly designed room (pictured below), I changed into my beach attire and headed to the buffet for dinner. The buffet featured an impressive variety of international and local dishes, including fresh seafood, grilled meats, and an array of tropical fruits. After dinner, I spent the evening lounging on the beach, soaking up the sun, and enjoying the exceptional beachside butler service, which catered to my every whim. With the warm saltwater gently lapping at my feet, I felt completely relaxed and ready for the adventures ahead.

Day 2: Exploring Arikok National Park
The next day, we embarked on a thrilling exploration of Arikok National Park, a stunning natural reserve that covers nearly 20% of the island. This park is a treasure trove of biodiversity, with unique geological formations, rich cultural history, and diverse wildlife.

Arikok National Park, Aruba
We started our journey at the California Lighthouse, an iconic landmark that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the coastline. The climb to the top was worth it, as I stood in awe of the expansive blue sea stretching out before me.

Equipped with side-by-sides and a map, we navigated through the park's desert terrain, where I marveled at the unique flora and fauna, including cacti and colorful birds. One of the highlights was discovering hidden caves adorned with ancient Arawak petroglyphs, which added a touch of history to our adventure. After a day filled with exploration and fresh air, we returned to the resort, rejuvenated and ready for the evening.

For dinner, we ventured to the Marina Restaurant, located right on the beach. The ambiance was magical; with the sound of waves crashing in the background, I savored a seafood feast that included grilled snapper and coconut shrimp, paired with local Aruban dishes. Afterward, we enjoyed live music and dancing in the lounge, where the lively atmosphere and delicious spirits kept the night vibrant.

Day 3: Beach and Snorkel Charter
Day three was one of the highlights of my trip—a beach and snorkel charter for the entire group. We boarded the 32 ft power boat, greeted by our knowledgeable captain Renaldo who shared insights about the marine life we were about to encounter.

As we cruised through the crystal-clear waters, I was filled with anticipation. The highlight of the trip was the free underwater scooters, which allowed us to glide effortlessly through the water while exploring vibrant coral reefs and fascinating shipwrecks. Snorkeling at Baby Beach was truly unforgettable; the soft sands and shallow waters made it the perfect spot to relax and swim.

The colorful fish darting around the reefs were mesmerizing, and I felt exhilarated as I floated along, taking in the beauty of Aruba's underwater world. After a day filled with sun, sea, and adventure, we returned to the resort, where I enjoyed a delicious dinner at the buffet and reflected on the amazing experiences of the day. That night, we indulged in some casino activities and nightlife. We danced at the clubs across the street into the night.

Day 4: Relaxation and Poolside Fun
On day four, I embraced a day of relaxation. I lounged by the beautiful pool, which featured a swim-up bar where I could order refreshing cocktails without ever leaving the water. The atmosphere was lively, with music playing and guests getting down to an afternoon dance contest!

The resort organized pool games and hip-hop dance parties, creating a fun and festive vibe. I joined in on the dance contests, and the laughter and energy of the group made for a fantastic afternoon. My sweet dance moves were the best! The food was plentiful, with options ranging from tacos to tropical fruit platters, ensuring everyone’s cravings were satisfied.

The Flying Fishbone! The #4 beach restaurant in the world!
Flying Fishbone (video below) in Aruba is a renowned dining destination known for its stunning beachfront views and delectable seafood dishes. It is so popular that you have to make reservations three months in advance! The unique setting, where you can dine with your feet in the water, creates a magical atmosphere, especially as the sun sets over the horizon. The menu features a variety of fresh catches and local specialties, making it a perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a memorable meal with friends and family. Our whole group loved the experience. There was even flaming dessert! The combination of exceptional food and breathtaking scenery truly makes Flying Fishbone a must-visit while in Aruba.

Day 5: Fishing Charter
On my fifth day, I embarked on a fishing charter. Although I was excited, I unfortunately battled seasickness during the trip. Despite this, the camaraderie among the group kept spirits high, and we managed to catch several mahi-mahi. The thrill of reeling in a fish was exhilarating, even if I didn’t feel my best.

Once we returned to shore, we had our catch prepared at a local restaurant. The chef expertly cooked the mahi-mahi, and I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious flavors. Sharing this meal with new friends was a highlight, reminding me of the connections made during this trip.

Day 6: Final Day of Relaxation
On my last full day, I took advantage of every moment to relax and soak in the beauty of Aruba one last time. I enjoyed butler service on the beach, where I could order drinks and snacks while lounging on a comfortable cabana. Water sports like kayaking and paddleboarding were available, and I took the opportunity to explore the beautiful coastline.

Snorkeling was once again on the agenda, and I relished the chance to dive into the warm waters and explore the vibrant marine life. The day slipped away as I melted into the sea, cherishing the tranquility of my surroundings.

Day 7: Departure Day – A Sad Farewell
As my final day arrived, a bittersweet feeling settled in. After a leisurely breakfast at the resort, I took in the last views of the beautiful ocean and lush surroundings. Reflecting on the incredible experiences I had over the past week filled me with gratitude.

By midday, it was time for my airport transfer, and Jacob ensured everything was in place for a smooth departure. The drive to the airport was filled with mixed emotions—excitement for future travels and sadness at leaving this paradise behind. Saying goodbye to Aruba and my new friends was tough, but I left with my heart full of memories and a smile on my face.
