Discover beach caves, snorkel around the nearby small reefs, visit the lighthouse, or simply relax and unwind on the soft white sand.
Preachers Cave – This unique, expansive cave, situated two miles east of Genes Bay Dock, has a remarkable history. Discovered in the 17th century by a group of Christian settlers led by William Sayle, who were seeking religious freedom from Bermuda. Shipwrecked near “The Devils Backbone” reef, Sayle and the settlers found shelter in this cave. They crafted an altar from a large stone that remains intact to this day and held the island’s inaugural religious service within, hence naming the cave.
